About Sabrina — Sabrina Mengrani Therapy
Queer affirming psychotherapy

A space that is
entirely yours

I work with teenagers, young people, and adults navigating identity, overwhelm, and relational patterns — especially at the intersections where feeling truly understood is rare, to create a space where all of you is welcome.

UKCP accredited queer affirming psychotherapist for teenagers, young people and adults

You don’t have to fit a
specific mould

I work with a wide range of experiences. If any of these sound familiar, you’re in the right place. Your existence is not up for debate, and deserves to be fully appreciated.

LGBTQ+ Gender & Sexuality
Navigating who you are — in a family or community that may not fully understand — in a world that wasn’t built with you in mind.
Intersectional & Multicultural
Living at the crossroads of race, culture, gender, sexuality, religion can feel isolating and disconnecting, not being truly seen for the different parts of you.
Overwhelm & Relational Patterns
When anxiety, emotional dysregulation, depression, or the same painful patterns keep showing up in relationships, work, or daily life.
Young people (13 to early 30s)
A generation navigating an increasingly complex world — and parents and carers who want support understanding their child’s experience.

Therapy is a place that is yours. To be messy, to let go, to reveal the parts you don’t want to admit exist. To be witnessed, and be seen. To figure out and reveal all the different parts that make up who you truly are.

It can be overwhelming even knowing where to begin. You don’t ned to – the only requirement is the willingness to show up.

Warm, integrative, trauma-informed

Every person comes to therapy with their own unique situation and experience. I draw on a range of approaches to meet you where you are.

Psychodynamic
Exploring childhood experiences, attachment, and early patterns that continue to shape how you experience the world and others today.
Person-centred
You are at the heart of the work. I follow your lead, your felt sense and lived experience. I am walking alongside you, not in front.
Somatic & body-based
There is wisdom in your body that may be being ignored – caught in your breath, tightness in your chest, clench of your jaw. Drawing attention and giving space to these responses allows connection to yourself in a way words can’t always reach.
Creative & expressive
It can feel way too vulnerable and exposing to confront uncomfortable memories and patterns head on. Music, visual arts, storytelling, and metaphor can allow for a different angle of exploration.
Trauma-informed
Grounded in attachment theory and neuroscience, my integrative approach honours the pace you lead with. This considers not only significant traumatic events, but also the impacts of structural oppression, colonialism, and emotional neglect from the family home and the outside environment.
Culturally sensitive
Informed by my own experience of difference, I am aware of the limitations of Western therapeutic frameworks and individualist approaches, and work to actively challenge them and honour cultural wisdom.

So what does that look like?

It’s hard to get a sense of what all these words actually mean in reality. I recorded this to give you a bit of an idea of who I am and how I work.

Things people often
wonder about

How long will therapy take?
There’s not really a way to answer this, as everyone comes to therapy with different experiences and different expectations. We can work together on a specific focus for 6 weeks, we can spend a year unpicking deeper patterns of relating, or anything in between or beyond. It depends on what you’re looking for. That might also change as the therapy goes on, and ultimately you make that decision. We can discuss your expectations and questions over a call if you’d like to talk more about this.
Are sessions online or in-person?
Either – I work online with anyone based in the UK, Ireland, or Europe, and in person in Kilkenny and Dublin from August.
Do you offer low-cost sessions?
Yes – I offer a sliding scale rate from €45, please reach out for more information. The 6-session block also brings the per-session cost down to €85.
I want to try therapy but I’m not sure where to begin
That’s okay – the first step is booking an initial call, where we can talk about what makes you want to try therapy, and what you might be worried about. It is a common place to be, and the process can seem overwhelming, but my role is to co-create a space with you where we can find the path forward together.
Do you work with parents and couples?
I don’t currently work with couples, but I offer reflective parenting sessions where we can think about your child and your relationship as a family, and explore the dynamics that contribute to difficulties. This is particularly useful when parents want to understand their child’s experience better, or if a young person doesn’t feel ready for their own therapy.
I’m not sure if you’re right for me
Choosing a therapist is a whole process, and I’d recommend reaching out to at least 3 therapists before making a decision. I would suggest reaching out for an initial chat anyway and see how you feel, there’s no pressure for any follow up if you decide we aren’t good together. And if we are, then I’m glad for the chance to know you!
